Taduran beats Moreno on points to keep IBF strawweight title
The unanimous decision leaves Taduran as the Philippines’ only boxing world champion and hands Moreno his first professional defeat.

Pedro Taduran retained his International Boxing Federation (IBF) world strawweight title with a unanimous decision over Brandon Moreno at Kiva Auditorium in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on November 8, Manila time.
The Filipino champion from Libon, Albay completed the 12-round contest with all three judges in his favour. One awarded him every round, while the remaining two each returned scores of 115-113.
Taduran applied pressure from the opening exchanges, but Moreno landed clean shots to stay in contention. As the fight progressed, Taduran found his rhythm and increased his punching output while pursuing the challenger.
Moreno sought to maintain distance in the closing rounds. Taduran continued to advance, sustaining his pursuit through to the end of the bout.
The victory took Taduran’s record to 21-4-1 and kept him as the only Filipino holding a boxing world title. Moreno suffered the first loss of his professional career, leaving him with a 16-1 record.
