Aaron Tai-Yap Roy King advanced to round two at the Denmark Open, recovering from a game down to beat South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Lee Jong-min 13-21, 21-18, 21-19. The result extended the Malaysian pair’s unbeaten run to six matches.

Their partnership began at the Arctic Open, where they took the title without losing a game. Kang-Lee became the first opponents to take a game off them, but Tai-Yap recovered to keep their winning start intact. The newly formed pair do not yet have a world ranking.

Tai delivered the decisive shot after moving away from his usual front-court position. With a high return arriving at the rear of the court, he jumped and struck a left-handed smash to finish the contest.

Next up are Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, who have reunited following a brief split. They reached the second round by defeating Japan’s Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi 21-19, 14-21, 21-11.
