Thailand collected 19 gold, 40 silver and 66 bronze medals at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, finishing ahead of all other Southeast Asian teams when competition ended on October 24.

China, Japan, Uzbekistan, India, South Korea and Iran occupied the six places above Thailand. Indonesia secured 15 gold medals, leaving Thailand with the region’s leading tally.

Sports Authority of Thailand governor Prodpran Samanmit commended the delegation’s effort despite missing its 27-gold target. She highlighted wheelchair racer Athiwat Paeng-nuea’s world-record-equalling performance over 100 metres in the men’s T54 class.

Witsanu Huadpradit earned a fifth successive boccia gold, and Thailand led the overall standings in that sport. First-time Games swimmer Nithikorn Jeampiriyakul took two golds, two silvers and a bronze. Newcomers made up nearly half the Thai delegation.

The authority will maintain training-camp support for established medal contenders and developing athletes as they prepare for Malaysia’s 2027 ASEAN Para Games and qualifiers for the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles.

The Asian Para Games prize scheme awards athletes ฿1 million per gold medal, ฿500,000 per silver and ฿250,000 per bronze. Qatar is due to stage the next Games in 2030.
