Moh Zaki Ubaidillah defeated fourth-seeded Jonatan Christie 16-21, 21-17, 21-17 in their opening-round match at the French Open 2026. The contest at Arena Grand Paris on 20 October lasted 69 minutes.

In comments issued by PBSI, Ubaidillah, who is known as Ubed, said he had been hesitant in the opening game and had played at too slow a pace. He responded by speeding up his play in the second game and maintained that approach in the third, despite some lapses.

Ubaidillah said he was grateful for the victory and valued the opportunity to learn from Christie. He described the match as a valuable experience, with both players determined to win.

He said a poor result the previous week had strengthened his determination to produce a better performance. However, he acknowledged that his form remained uneven and that he still had to demonstrate consistency. Ubaidillah added that he wanted to reach Christie's level but had much more to learn.
