Maximo Quiles won the Malaysia Moto3 race at Sepang as Indonesia’s Veda Ega Pratama secured the runner-up spot following a final-lap battle. Alvaro Carpe finished third, leaving Hakim Danish fourth.
Honda Team Asia rider Veda Ega reached fifth on lap two after starting eighth. He subsequently traded places with Danish as they pursued the riders ahead, before overtaking Carpe on lap nine to take second. Danish also passed Carpe, putting him third.
Quiles stretched his lead to 1.2 seconds on lap 10. Veda Ega lost ground when he went wide on lap 12, with both Danish and David Almansa getting past. He overtook both on lap 13, although Almansa then regained the advantage.
