Veda Ega Pratama heads to Malaysia Moto3 after Australian pole
The Indonesian rider returns to Sepang, where he has recorded wins and podium finishes in junior and regional competitions.

Veda Ega Pratama is preparing for the 2026 Malaysia Moto3 round at Sepang after taking pole position in Australia, where bad weather forced the race to be cancelled. The Yogyakarta rider became the first Indonesian to secure a Moto3 pole but did not get the chance to race.
Veda is contesting his debut Moto3 season with Honda Team Asia in 2026. His previous competitions include the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and Fim JuniorGP, alongside events that brought him several podium finishes at Sepang.
In the 2023 Asia Talent Cup, victory in the second race at the Malaysian circuit also secured him the season title. He finished that campaign with nine wins from 12 races, becoming the competition’s first Indonesian champion. A year earlier, he had taken second place in Race 2 at Sepang.
His results there also include podiums in the Asia Road Racing Championship. Competing in Asia Production 250 (AP250) in 2023, Veda placed third in the opening race before winning the second.
He returned to Sepang for the championship in 2024, moving to the Supersport 600 class and finishing third in Race 2.
