Vietnam could receive US$25 million under FIFA funding proposal
The proposed allocation covers the 2027-30 cycle, with final approval expected at the FIFA Congress in March 2027.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) would qualify for US$25 million in development funding under a FIFA proposal, provided the package is approved and the federation fulfils FIFA's requirements.
FIFA announced the plan on October 15, proposing the same total allocation for each member association over the 2027-30 cycle. Vietnam is among FIFA's 211 member associations. Permitted uses include developing youth and women's football, improving facilities and supporting long-term football projects.
The package would combine US$10 million through the FIFA Forward 4.0 development programme with US$15 million through the FIFA Surplus Solidarity Programme, which draws on the organisation's financial surplus.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino reiterated the funding plan at the FIFA U-15 World Cup in Azerbaijan. In an interview on FIFA's website, he said associations received US$250,000 a year, or US$1 million over four years, when he took office 10 years ago.
FIFA expects its worldwide football development budget to reach US$6.35 billion, more than twice the amount originally planned. It attributes the increase mainly to stronger-than-expected commercial results from the World Cup 2026.
Disbursement has not been approved. The FIFA Council is expected to finalise the proposal in December 2026 before submitting it to the 77th FIFA Congress for final approval in March 2027.
