Vietnam's Anh Tu takes joint third at FC Mobile world championship
The Vietnamese player earned US$20,000, while Thailand's KOG.RYU77 won the inaugural tournament in Seoul.

Vietnamese gamer Anh Tu, known in competition as FPLxChanh, earned US$20,000 after finishing joint third at the inaugural FC Pro Mobile World Championship in Seoul. The tournament ran from October 21 to 25.
Thailand's KOG.RYU77 claimed the title by beating compatriot ZMDxN4T.5U 4-1 in the final. Organised by EA Sports, the championship brought together 32 players who had qualified through national, regional and international competitions. Its US$250,000 prize pool included US$60,000 for the winner and US$40,000 for the runner-up.
Anh Tu's semi-final against KOG.RYU77 went to a deciding game after the Vietnamese player recovered from two opening losses. He took the third game 1-0 and won the fourth on penalties, 5-3, to draw level at 2-2 in the best-of-five contest.
Neither player scored during regulation or extra time in the decider. KOG.RYU77 then won the penalty shootout 6-5, ending Anh Tu's bid for a place in the final.
Of Vietnam's four entrants, only Anh Tu progressed from the group stage. He led Group F, then beat Brazil's Reiss06 2-0 in the last 16 and fellow Brazilian Davizin7 3-1 in the quarter-finals.
In August, Anh Tu earned US$20,000 and direct qualification for the world championship by finishing second at the Mid-Season Playoffs in Bangkok. His prize earnings from the two performances totalled US$40,000 over the past two months.
