Visakha rally past Pursat to win U20 volleyball crown
Sor Pesey earned two individual awards as Visakha claimed the championship and 50 million riel in prize money.

Visakha won the 2026 U20 Wurkz Special Volleyball Cup with a 3-2 comeback victory over Pursat Provincial Police Department at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh. Pursat had taken the first two sets but could not secure their first championship.
After Pursat won 25-22 and 25-21, Visakha responded by taking the remaining sets 25-22, 25-17 and 15-11. The champions earned 50 million riel, with 20 million riel going to Pursat.
Third place went to Kandal Provincial Police Department, who overcame Phnom Penh Municipal Police Department 3-1, recording scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-15 and 26-24. Their respective prizes were 12 million riel and 8 million riel.
Visakha’s Sor Pesey was named Most Valuable Player and best outside hitter. The team’s other award recipients were Kheng Thona for best middle blocker, Phol Seanhong for best opposite hitter and Oun Sovannarath for best libero. Kandal’s Chinda Samrach and Sok Panhya also earned best opposite hitter and best middle blocker honours respectively.
Pursat’s Ly Mengheak received the best setter award. Aing Serey Piseth, vice-president and secretary-general of the Cambodia Volleyball Federation, said Visakha setter Soun Channaro exceeded the age limit for individual honours, even though he scored more points.
Tournament rules permitted four overage players per squad, but only two could play simultaneously. Serey Piseth said requiring four U20 players on court was intended to give younger athletes competitive experience and help the federation identify future national team players.
