Yip and Toh take top individual honours at Singapore disability sports awards
Yip Pin Xiu received her seventh sportswoman accolade, while Toh Wei Soong extended his run of sportsman awards to five.

Swimmers Yip Pin Xiu and Toh Wei Soong were named Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year respectively at the Singapore Disability Sports Awards on Nov 4. The ceremony at Pan Pacific Singapore honoured sporting achievements recorded between April 2025 and March 2026.
For Yip, it was a seventh sportswoman award. She won gold in the 50m backstroke S2 and silver in the 100m back S2 at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships, bringing her world championship medal collection to eight golds and three silvers. Yip said the recognition had particular significance because Singapore hosted the competition.
Toh's fifth consecutive sportsman award followed two silver medals from the Japan and Mexico rounds of the 2025 World Para Swimming Series. He also collected five medals at the ASEAN Para Games in January, three of them gold.
Sportsgirl of the Year went to swimmer Moza Baihakki, 15. On her international debut at the 2025 Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai, she recorded personal bests across four events, earning two gold medals alongside a silver and a bronze.
Boccia player Aloysius Gan won a third consecutive sportsboy award after taking gold at the Astana 2026 World Boccia Cup, silver at the Curitiba 2025 World Boccia Cup and the ASEAN Para Games men's BC3 individual title.
Gan and Nurulasyiqah Mohammad Taha also received the team honour alongside ramp assistants Eve Cher and Nur Azizah Ahmad Rumzi. Their mixed BC3 partnership earned silver at the Beijing 2025 World Boccia Cup and gold at the ASEAN Para Games.
The high-performance coaching honour went to Ang Peng Siong, who oversees Toh's and Moza's programmes. Tenpin bowling coach Sam Goh received the developmental coaching award. The Singapore Disability Sports Council and Singapore National Paralympic Council jointly organised the ceremony for the first time.
