Haggerty–Yod-IQ bout draws interest as bantamweight Grand Prix floated
Chatri Sityodtong expressed interest in the matchup, but Yod-IQ is injured and neither the fight nor a bantamweight tournament has been announced.

ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has expressed interest in Jonathan Haggerty fighting Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri, while describing a bantamweight World Grand Prix in 2027 as a strong possibility. Speaking on ONE Championship Thailand’s Facebook Live broadcast, he gave no tournament dates or line-up.
A leg injury is keeping Muay Thai champion Yod-IQ out of training, Chatri said, while Haggerty wants time off over Christmas. The fighters also indicated interest in a meeting on Instagram after Haggerty tagged Yod-IQ in a post about his next opponent. Chatri mentioned Suakim Pongsuphan PK as another Muay Thai opponent he would like Haggerty to face.
Under kickboxing rules, Nabil Anane could challenge Haggerty for his title. Chatri said both fighters wanted that contest, but no bout against Anane or Yod-IQ has been announced. Anane is first scheduled to face Nico Carrillo for the featherweight Muay Thai championship at The Inner Circle 43 on December 18 at Lumpinee Stadium.
ONE considered bantamweight before opting for an eight-fighter flyweight tournament, Chatri said. The flyweight competition starts on November 13 at The Inner Circle 38, pairing Rodtang Jitmuangnon with Nong-O Hama and Shimon Yoshinari with Ramadan Ondash. Chatri did not indicate whether Haggerty would enter a bantamweight event.
Yod-IQ took the Muay Thai belt in September by defeating Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon on a unanimous decision. He later told the Bangkok Post that Haggerty should secure a Muay Thai win before challenging him. Haggerty’s last appearance under those rules ended in defeat to Superlek Kiatmoo9 in September 2024.
