Reinhard Jumamoy hit a three-pointer with 0.5 seconds left in overtime as National University defeated the University of Santo Tomas 87-85 at Smart Araneta Coliseum in the UAAP Season 89 Collegiate Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs recorded their second successive victory, taking their record to 4-2 before their final first-round game against Far Eastern University. UST slipped to 2-3 after suffering a second defeat in a row.

NU had been in a position to finish the contest without overtime. It led 77-68 with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter but failed to hold that nine-point advantage.

Closely marked by Mark Llemit, Jumamoy stepped back and banked in his long-range attempt. UST then found Amiel Acido at the top of the key for its last shot, but Mo Diassana blocked his three-point attempt.

In the later game, Far Eastern University defeated Ateneo 93-70 for a fourth consecutive victory, retaining top spot. Ateneo played without Louie Alas.
