The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia attracted 157,875 spectators across three days at Mandalika Circuit, its largest turnout since joining the MotoGP calendar in 2022. Race promoter Dorna Sports reported the attendance figures for the venue in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir said an evaluation of the event would be sent to President Prabowo Subianto to inform future policy decisions. He supported retaining MotoGP at Mandalika, while saying presidential approval was needed for any formal contract extension.

Attendance increased each day, from 39,510 on October 9 to 53,296 on October 10. The October 11 race day drew the weekend’s biggest crowd, at 65,069.

The overall figure exceeded the 140,324 spectators recorded in 2025. Earlier editions attracted 121,252 in 2024, 102,929 in 2023 and 102,801 at the inaugural event in 2022.

Indonesian riders Veda Ega Pratama and Mario Aji were among the attractions for local fans. After the Mandalika round, Jorge Martin led the 2026 MotoGP championship standings on 355 points, two ahead of Marc Marquez, who had 353.

In an October 11 statement, Erick praised those involved in organising the race and described the attendance record as a shared achievement. He said the turnout demonstrated public interest and strengthened Indonesia’s standing as an international sports host.
