Marquez wins Mandalika sprint to take MotoGP championship lead
Marc Marquez has 343 points, four ahead of Jorge Martin, after winning the sprint at the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez moved ahead of Jorge Martin in the MotoGP championship standings by winning the sprint at the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at Mandalika. The victory brought his points tally to 343 and gave him a four-point advantage over Martin.
Martin had led the race and built a gap of 1.7 seconds over Marquez, but Marquez passed him with five laps remaining. Martin then lost further positions to Ai Ogura and Fabio Di Giannantonio, leaving him fourth at the finish.
The win improved on Marquez's previous best Mandalika sprint result, third place in 2024. He has yet to score points in a full-length race at the circuit, where injuries and crashes have prevented him from finishing.
The Mandalika round is one of the final six events in the season's world championship contest. The sprint took place on Saturday, with the full-length race scheduled for Sunday.
