Bezzecchi leads Marquez in Mandalika MotoGP opening practice
The Aprilia rider set a lap of 1 minute 30.132 seconds, while several riders crashed during the session in Indonesia.

Marco Bezzecchi finished ahead of Marc Marquez in the opening free practice session for the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at Mandalika Circuit on 9 October. The Aprilia rider led with a time of 1 minute 30.132 seconds.
Marquez moved from eighth to second in the closing stages, pushing Pedro Acosta down the order. Jorge Martin then overtook Acosta on the timing sheet to sit behind Marquez.
The lead changed hands earlier in the session, with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Raul Fernandez among those setting the pace. With 15 minutes remaining, Bezzecchi headed an Aprilia top three, followed by Martin and Trackhouse rider Fernandez.
Several riders fell during practice. LCR Honda's Diogo Moreira crashed at Turn 1 with 31 minutes left. Ai Ogura suffered a lowside through the Turns 7-8-9 sequence with 20 minutes remaining, while Fermin Aldeguer also had a lowside at Turn 1.
An incident involving Francesco Bagnaia and Toprak Razgatlioglu at Turn 12 was under investigation. Razgatlioglu was travelling slowly as Bagnaia tried to pass; Bagnaia went onto the gravel and gestured in frustration.
