Adamson recovered from a three-point third quarter to defeat the University of the East 71-64 in UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball on October 11, 2026, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The result brought the Falcons’ record to 3-2 and extended UE’s losing run to 26 games.

Ray Allen Torres led Adamson with 17 points, alongside three rebounds and three assists. Precious Jonah contributed 14 points, Matty Erolon scored 12, Earl Medina had 11 and Monty Montebon added 10. Tope Lagat topped UE’s scoring with 22 points.

The Falcons held a 54-32 advantage at half-time, but their scoring stalled in the third quarter as UE narrowed the margin to 57-49. Manu Anabo and Jonah then supplied six unanswered points at the start of the fourth, giving Adamson a 63-49 lead with 8:51 remaining. UE got no closer than the final seven-point margin.

Adamson head coach Nash Racela said UE’s second-half performance had not surprised him, noting that the Red Warriors had improved over their previous three games. He criticised his own team’s third-quarter play but said the players responded positively in the fourth.

One more loss would leave UE level with the league’s second-longest losing streak: the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons’ 27-game run spanning Seasons 75 to 77.
